I FUCKING LOVE #thecult
“Every time I see Tom Cruise in a film, I remember that I am capable of love”, I concluded after seeing Oblivion. You must be rolling your eyes, thinking Cruise should get a restraining order against me because I’m nuts. I guess the idea I’m trying to convey was expressed more wittely by Cameron Crowe in Jerry Maguire : every time I see a Cruise’s film, “I am my father’s daughter again”.
There are feelings, people, we once knew that were wiped out of our minds. But then, we see a face, we hear a word, and they all come back rushing at us. People we never met remind us what we once were. Kosinski’s Oblivion revisits this classic cinematic theme with a not completely original sci-fi story but still a surprisingly poetic and visually dreamy Hollywood blockbuster.
